Where do I park?

There are plenty of free parking spots in front of the office.

What do I have to bring?

Be sure to bring your:

  1. Completed new patient packet that was either mailed, downloaded from this site or faxed to you upon scheduling your appointment.
  2. List of all of your current medications and supplements, the form is provided in the new patient packet.
  3. You will also want to remember your form of payment for your visit.

Do I need my X-rays and old records?

  1. You need to bring your actual x-rays and the x-ray reports.
  2. Results of recent lab work done in the last six months.

Will I be expected to pay on the date of my appointment?

Payment is due at the time of service.  TPMA (Tyler Physical Medicine Associates) accepts cash, personal checks, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

Is TPMA part of any insurance networks?

We are a part of several insurance networks. We have a billing service that can file your claims for certain procedures after your visit. TPMA cannot however, guarantee any insurance reimbursements. Some of the services at TPMA are NOT billable to any insurance company. Medicaid/Medicare.

How long should I plan to stay?

This depends upon what type of treatment you are coming to the clinic for. Most Prolotherapy appointments should plan to be here for approximately one hour. If you are scheduled to have laboratory tests done you may plan on staying for an extra 30-60 minutes, depending on the exact testing regime.

Will I get injections on the first visit?

If the reason you are coming to TPMA is to receive Prolotherapy you may be able to receive such, provided the doctor feels that such is appropriate without further x-rays or more current diagnostic or lab testing. He may suggest or require certain laboratory testing first.

Can I drive after Prolotherapy?

Yes, driving is not a problem after you receive Prolotherapy. You will feel a little stiff, but mobility is not limited. In fact, some movement is helpful after Prolotherapy.

Can I work the same day as Prolotherapy?

Yes, you will be capable of working after Prolotherapy for most jobs. You may not want to work if your work involves standing all day or heavy lifting.

Where is the closest airport?

TPMA is located approximately 30 minutes from Tyler Pounds Regional Airport. It is easily accessible by taxi and/or rent-a-car.

Are there places to eat nearby?

TPMA is close to many restaurants that serve just about anything you could be craving.

Do I need to fast?

Fasting is required for most lab tests for evaluation of the musculoskeletal system. If fasting is required, you will be informed.

Please note that you SHOULD NOT fast, before Prolotherapy, you should make sure to eat a good meal no more than two hours before your treatment.

How long will it take to complete a course of treatments?

The response to treatment varies from individual to individual, and depends upon one's healing ability. Some people may only need a few treatments while others may need 10 or more. The average number of treatments is 4-6 for an area treated.
